An investment in forest assets has proven over the last 2 decades to have on average some of the highest returns on offer for buyers. An investment in Redwoods is something that every buyer considering forestry should look at closely.

Motukawa Forest is in an area, which has a history of growing quality trees, and offers purchasers 187.6 hectares of established Redwoods, alongside 85 hectares of Pinus Radiata. The location is ideal with the forest being only 45 kms from New Plymouth itself.

In addition to the above, Motukawa is a second rotation forest; hence significant roading infrastructure is in place. The net result being significant cost reductions come harvest.
The owner has had a full forest report commissioned which outlines not only forest health etc, but also market prospects for Redwood both in New Zealand and export.

Tender will be at LJ Hooker, 66 Reads Quay, Gisborne.

Location Description

New Plymouth, situated on the shores of the Tasman sea at the southern end of the North Taranaki Bight, is the main centre of Taranaki. The region's economic base has traditionally been the dairy industry but manufacturing and oil and gas production are also prominent.

New Plymouth is an energetic community, with over 800 clubs and organisations, a lively art and craft culture and a strong sports and outdoors scene. Mt Taranaki and its accompanying national park offer accessible outdoor adventures and New Plymouth itself has many land and water-based recreational opportunities.

Taranaki's history is ever-present and the region contains many historic sites relating to Maori, then European, settlement and the land conflicts of the 19th century.
